First Animation

My first animation ever. I did this 2 years ago when I was known here as jobforacartoonist. As you can see from my updated gallery, I have improved dramatically since then. I didn't understand timing, tweening or anything about animation back then. Still, I'd say this is pretty good, given that I was naive as Hell about the subject of animation.

Here I am animating in college, while class is in session and my iphone rings so I get mad and swat it off the desk and it vibrates so hard, it causes my bag to bounce around after landing in it. I sent this to Joe Murray, a good friend of mine and creator of Rocko's Modern life and here's what he had to say:

"Hey Matt:

Thanks for sharing that with me. Well,,, it's a good start. You have drawing ability, Animation always needs clarity, so staging your scene ( Maybe with close ups of the phone) so we get the idea. Fluid motion. Really go over the top to let us know what's going on. Study movement of the body as well.
